DFW Slab Foundations is a free referral service. We are not a contractor and do not perform the work. When you call or submit a request, we connect you with an independent local concrete contractor, who quotes, performs, and is responsible for the job. We may receive a fee from the contractor.

Free to use · One independent local contractor per request · Quotes come straight from the contractor

DFW Slab Foundations helps homebuilders, builders' project managers and property owners in Dallas–Fort Worth find a concrete contractor for slab foundations and flatwork on new construction. You send one request. A person on our side reads it and matches it, by hand, with one independent contractor who works in your city and does that kind of work. That contractor calls you, looks at your plans and quotes the job. Your request is not sent to a list of companies.

Concrete work we match in DFW

We only match new construction and replacement flatwork. We don't match foundation repair, leveling or underpinning.

Why DFW slabs are engineered first

Much of the eastern half of the metro sits on the Blackland Prairie. Texas Parks and Wildlife describes its "black, calcareous, alkaline, heavy clay soils," formed from chalks, marls, limestones and shales. The Houston Black series, the Texas state soil, covers about 1.5 million acres of the Blackland Prairie from north of Dallas to San Antonio. The Texas Water Development Board's soil sheet says these clays "shrink and swell markedly with changes in moisture content." It adds that their "very high shrink-swell potential commonly is a limitation affecting building site development."

That's why DFW cities ask for engineered foundation paperwork. Fort Worth requires an engineered foundation plan on new residential permits and engineer-sealed post-tension plans. Frisco's residential checklist calls for a PTI report on post-tension foundations. McKinney asks for a signed and sealed structural engineer's certification letter. The contractor you're matched with should know the paperwork in your city. Your engineer and the city have the final word.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the job. Call, or use the builder or owner form. Pick "New construction" or "Repair" so we know right away whether we can help.
  2. We match it by hand. We pick one independent contractor who serves your city and does the type of concrete work you need. Your request goes to that contractor only.
  3. The contractor quotes you. They contact you, review your plans or site, and give you their own price and schedule.
  4. You decide. You can hire them or not. Your contract, price and warranty, if any, are between you and the contractor.

We don't check licenses or insurance; Texas has no statewide license for concrete contractors. Ask the contractor for proof of insurance and references before you sign. More on how it works and who we are.
